We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our automotive dealership. This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while partnering closely with dealership leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cash activity, including bank deposits, ACH, wire transfers, and bank reconciliations
• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement reporting in compliance with franchisor and management requirements
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, fixed assets, and accounting schedules
• Prepare and review financial reports, tax filings, and regulatory submissions
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely disbursements and collections
• Monitor and reconcile floor plan, manufacturer statements, finance reserves, and Work in Progress (WIP) accounts
• Oversee daily accounting for vehicle sales, service, parts, and body shop operations
• Manage vehicle inventory accounting, including title processing and monthly physical inventories
• Lead weekly financial review meetings with dealership management and provide financial analysis and insights
• Assist the CFO and dealership leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting accuracy and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Previous Controller or senior accounting experience, preferably in an automotive dealership environment
• Strong knowledge of dealership accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with CDK DMS systems and Paycom is preferred
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with management and department leaders
